Prissy,

You were the most beautiful cat I've ever seen. You came into our lives by a friend of the family. Although I never saw myself as a "cat person", your mother convinced me that you would capture my heart if I gave you a chance, so I agreed.

From that day on, I have been captivated by your beauty, mesmerized by your stare and humored by your playfulness. Seeing and holding you always brought happiness and enjoyment to my day, even when days were difficult. I knew that just being around you made life better. Your mother and I enjoyed holding you and playing hide and seek with you. We enjoyed grooming you just as much as we knew you liked us doing it for you. We enjoyed watching you sit in the window talking to the birds and sitting in my/your recliner. We had so many wonderful times together in your presence. The time we had together with you cannot be expressed by just words alone. We took so many pictures of you because we knew in our hearts that one day we would be apart and those photographs and memories would keep us together always and forever.

That dreadful day came on August 12, 2007 when we had to make one of the toughest decisions of our lives. It was the best and most humane thing to do but the hardest decision to live with. You had been diagnosed with heart and kidney failure at the same time several weeks earlier. You battled and fought those weeks to get better but it was just too much for any godly creature to overcome. We made the decision to put you to sleep so there would be no more pain or suffering. As we looked at you and into your beautiful eyes, you passed on to be with your Creator.

We have both cried a river of tears since then, but know you are in a better place. The time that we had together with you was some of the most fulfilling times of our lives. We cannot put a value on what you meant to us. Only God knows that measure.

Prissy, you were one of the most faithful and loving companions that we could ever have asked for. We want you to know that we did all we could possibly do for you, because we realize and understand that you did everything you could do for us. Thank you, prissy cat, for enriching our lives. You will always be missed.

Love, Mommy and Daddy
