Liquor Born: Unknown Died: November 1, 1999 One night when I was working at the liquor store, a man came in and said that someone was kicking a poor kitten away from the door. Well we went outside and found this beautiful little kitten. Your tail was as big as your body and as fluffy as could be. One look at you and I fell in love. I called home and asked if we could take you and of course the answer was yes. We all fell in love with you. You came home and just made yourself at home – you acted as if you owned the place. You had warmed your way into not only our home, but also our hearts. We called you liquor since you were found at the liquor store, but granny had another name for you – “fluffy tail” and that seemed to fit. You knew that grandma was not a cat person, but you even warmed your way into her heart. Everyone who met you thought that you were a cool cat. You loved to bask in the sun on the porch, watching the world outside. You also loved to walk along the side of the bathtub when I was taking a bath, just sticking the tip of your tail into the water. You loved to play with a ball, tin foil made into a ball, and even played “keep away” with Josh and me. You were my little baby and bedtime angel. You would fall asleep cradled in my arms. When I had surgery you stayed with me the whole time until someone came home. Then you would go and eat, drink and use the litter box, and then it was right back to me again. You had such a big heart. You welcomed dogs and other cats into the house, along with foster children. Liquor you shared your heart, your life and your love with so many. You were only with us for nine years, which was not long enough. But in those nine years the love that we shared was wonderful. Thank you for sharing nine years with us. Even though the time was short, the memories will live in our hearts forever. Nancy Rodgers |
