My Dearest Dixie,
I rescued you from the shelter when you were 4 years old. They told me that I saved your life, but you also saved mine. You were always there for me when I needed you most. You loved it when we went for rides in the car and long walks on the beach. You were my loyal companion, my best friend, and you loved me no matter what. I hate that I come home and you’re not here to greet me. I walk up the stairs and expect to see you there waiting and wagging your tail, so happy to see me. I miss seeing you do your circle dance, all excited because I asked you if you want to go bye bye in the car.

My Dixie Doodles, these past 9 ½ years together made me so happy. You made me laugh every day. I wish we had more time together but I know it was time for you to go. You were My Beautiful Reward, and I love you and miss you more and more each day.

My little girl you are forever in my heart. Until we meet again.
