I never knew a Doberman till I met you that night in Cull pepper VA Tom my new husband said they were the best dogs he had ever known. Well he wanted a male red dobie so that’s what I set out to do. We went to a rescue site D.A.R.E., because unless you are looking to be a certified breeder then they are the ones that really need you. We drove from Bowie, Maryland after we were approved to be a worthy couple for adoption, we had been married only four months, and already had Calli My rottweiler that was a year & a half old, the agency said puppies were not real common and go fast, well it wasn’t to long before we got the call, Alex and three of his brothers were at their foster mom’s place, so we hurried off and when we got there, there sat Alex in the foster mom’s lap, while his goofy brothers ran around and acted like clowns. I said to Tom, “he’s the one, isn’t he and yes he agreed. Well on our way Alex sat on my lap as quiet an d content, as silent as a whisper, we were amazed at the way he did not whimper or cry or even seem, concerned. Well much to our dismay traffic was backed up on the Woodrow Wilson; we sat there for over 4hrs. Alex said nothing he slept peacefully in the back seat after my arms got tired of holding him. We got to our house after 3am and I said. “well if we are going to crate train him, go ahead and put him in, the crate was there next to our bed the same one I had raised Callie in, Tom put him in and as soon as he went to lie down Alex let out a song of despair, the first we had heard all night, well I was never a fan of crates that’s why after Callie was potty trained she no longer slept in hers, I said. “Look, it’s been a crazy night and I am too tired to try this tonight let him out and put him in the bed.”

He fell asleep there and never did he go to a crate after that, I wasn’t suppose to fall in love with this boy, this was my husband’s baby, I had callie, she was all t hat I needed!! Boy was I wrong, Alex and I became closer each and every day, and it was obvious that he was a momma’s boy!

We did everything together and when he got sick I could not believe it, I still can’t see why this happened other than one obvious thing.

AN IRRESPONSIBLE PERSON TOOK THE POSITION OF A BREEDER WHEN SHE HAD NO RIGHT TOO, SHE TOOK HER FEMALE DOBERMAN WITH NO REGUARDS AND BRED HER, HAD 12PUPS HAD TO GIVE 5 TO A RESCUE CAUSE SHE COULDN’T SELL THEM AND THEY WERE TOO MUCH FOR HER TO HANDLE!!

SHAME ON YOU AND ANYONE WHO IS SO SELFISH TO DO SUCH A FOOLISH THING!!

It’s ignorance like this that breaks our hearts and over fills our rescues, it’s people like this that don’t realize that the baby they bring in to this world may have a shorter life span because the humans doing this have no idea about what they are doing!!! GREED is the motivation of the ignorant!!!

I will never ever forget my Alex and I will never stop hurting for his loss, it was a senseless act by our own kind!! I now have the need to stand on soap boxes, yell out to mankind, stop the ignorance, and stop the breeding by the unqualified!! But who am I kidding!! Society doesn’t care; it takes more to get a license to drive a car than it does to breed a dog!! Stop the pain and think before you have that litter, spay and neuter the ones you love don’t have puppies!!

I hope Alex’s death from osteosarcoma, his suffering with thyroid problems and all the pain that cancer brings can help others see the fault in their foolish ways!

Alex is gone and forever in our hearts, please think about that!!

WE MIS OUR SON AND WE WILL NEVER FORGET THE HORRIBLE WAY HE WAS TAKEN FROM US!!

lOVE YOU MY BOY !!
